Where It All Began...
Delta Phi Omega Sorority, Inc. was established on December 6, 1998 by seventeen South Asian women who recognized the need for an organization to promote the advancement of South Asian women. These seventeen women from various backgrounds came together with the common goal of uniting women among the South Asian community.
The National Founders created the backbone of this sorority on the basis of five pillars of Sisterhood, Respect, Loyalty, Honesty, and Friendship. They envisioned an organization that would highlight the diverse South Asian cultures through participation in community and social service projects, while focusing on academic and social aspects.
Through determination and perseverence, this vision has evolved into a reality and as a result has become a highly sought after organization for South Asian women across the United States. With each passing year, Delta Phi Omega continues to expand and make its presence known not only within its respective universities, but also within the community.
Delta Phi Omega Sorority, Inc. has expanded to include over 11 chapters, 17 colonies, reaching 33 universities, and consisting of over 1000 sisters nationwide. The women of Delta Phi Omega understand that only through hard work, optimism, and a pure vision with the notion of sisterhood, will a sorority among South Asians prevail.
